LGBTQ+ Engagement & Wedding in Cancun

Some love stories come in two parts. This one started at Isla Blanca, a pristine, undeveloped beach peninsula about 45 minutes north of Cancun, tucked between the Caribbean Sea and the Chacmuchuch Lagoon. No hotels, crowds, or noise. Just miles of white sand and the kind of sunset that makes you understand why photographers seek this place out.

I met Vladimir a couple of years earlier during a photography workshop for sales managers at Palace Resorts, one of those professional encounters that quietly turns into a real friendship. So when he asked me to photograph his engagement session with Rodri at Isla Blanca, it wasn’t just a booking. It was personal.

February gave us everything: golden light, breathtaking views, and that particular stillness Isla Blanca gets in the late afternoon when the sun drops toward the lagoon side. The images from that evening are some of my favorites.

A few months later, Vladi and Rodri got married, an intimate beach ceremony at Planet Hollywood by Royalton Cancun, dressed in beautiful shades of sage green against the Mexican Caribbean. Emotional, joyful, and oh-so them. After the ceremony, a color bomb portrait session that got wonderfully messy, then a beach reception with fireworks, dancers, and water drums that had everyone moving.

I got to enjoy a little of that party myself, but watching two friends say I do is a different kind of privilege than any other wedding I photograph.

Vladi & Rodri … thank you for letting me be part of both chapters. Wishing you all the love in Merida.
