About Me

CANCUN • RIVIERA MAYA • PLAYA DEL CARMEN • TULUM

Hi, I’m Martina Campolo, an Italian-born documentary wedding photographer based in Playa del Carmen, and I’ve been capturing destination weddings across the Riviera Maya since 2006. I work in English, Spanish, and Italian, and I photograph all kinds of love, including LGBTQ+ weddings, which I welcome with my whole heart.

My style is documentary, romantic, and natural. If you like what you see here, I’d love to know more about you, your love story, and how I might fit into your wedding day vision.

Working with me is more than a business relationship. It’s about getting to know you, understanding your story, and building a real connection, because that’s the only way I can capture something true. My goal is to make you feel so comfortable that you forget the camera is even there and let your real self just be.

My style is 99% photo documentary with a touch of direction when needed. I dig emotions and beautiful natural light. My weddings are a mix of happy tears, kids running in the background, guests laughing, golden flares, sun-kissed skin, magical sunsets, sweet glances … all those small moments that, when put together, tell an authentic love story.

The best part of my day is waking up next to my daughter Aisha, having a croissant with Nutella and a good cup of coffee, with our chubby cats Felix and Eva watching. Aisha is my biggest inspiration; she pushes me to be the very best version of myself every single day. That’s why I never stop doing the things that make me feel alive. I’m passionate about Kizomba dancing, a DJ in training, and always up for a good conversation about all of it.

During my early teens, I fell in love with my dad’s Reflex Olympus. By nineteen, I’d taken a formal photography course and landed my first full-time photography job on cruise ships. That was it. I knew I’d never stop traveling.

In 2006, a friend asked me to help shoot a wedding in the Dominican Republic, and I was absolutely ecstatic. I realized right then that I wanted to dedicate myself to becoming a professional wedding photographer. Just the thought of documenting one of the most intimate days in someone’s life, it blew my mind. I’ve been shooting destination weddings ever since, and I have absolutely no plans to stop.

Choose me if you like what I do and who I am. In return, I promise to pour my heart and soul into every single image. I’d love to hear from you, drop me a line here. I’m already excited.
