Holbox was new to me when Mishu and Bren asked me to photograph their wedding there. A quiet fisherman’s island off the northern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula … no cars, white sand streets, that particular kind of stillness you only find in places that haven’t been overrun yet. I fell in love with it immediately.
The day started at Villas Palapa del Mar, with a small group of their closest people, exactly the size a wedding should be when the love between two people is this visible. They said their vows on the beach as the sky did everything it possibly could to make the moment even more beautiful. And at the end of the ceremony, they sealed it the only way that felt right: a tequila shot and rainbow flags. I mean perfect.
Sunset portraits, then downtown Holbox for the rest of the night. Drinks, tacos, dancing, laughter. The kind of wedding that makes you want to go back to the island just to feel that energy again.
Mishu, Bren, thank you for letting me be part of your day. Wishing you all the love.
